In 2026, we are proud to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Central Alberta Children’s Festival! For two decades, this beloved festival has brought families together in Downtown Red Deer to learn, play, and be active. Each year, the festival continues to evolve, offering new and unique opportunities that inspire creativity, curiosity, and fun for children across Central Alberta.
The festival features an exciting mix of local and national performers, showcasing a wide range of talents including singing, dancing, interactive shows, and even a little magic. Over the past 19 years, the festival has welcomed an average of 5,000 attendees each year over two action-packed days, and in 2026 we’re expecting even more families to join in the celebration. The Central Alberta Children’s Festival proudly welcomes school groups from Red Deer and communities across Central Alberta.
At its heart, the festival is about making the performing arts and hands-on experiences accessible to children and families at the lowest cost possible. Each year, over 30 activity tents and stations fill the park, keeping kids active and imaginations running. Popular stations include Science World, Pioneer Village, interactive entertainment, physical activities, and much more. Every activity is designed to encourage creativity, build knowledge, and most importantly, have fun.
Family Services of Central Alberta is proud to be the driving force behind the Children’s Festival. Through strong community partnerships, we look forward to making the 2026 Central Alberta Children’s Festival a magical milestone year, one that reminds everyone that a part of them will “Never Grow Up.”
