For the 13th straight year, Keith Urban fans from around the world will be collecting new stuffed monkeys for sick and needy children. Members of Keith's online community, 'The Ville' along with all his Facebook and Twitter fans will be taking donations from friends, family and the general public and mailing them to numerous fan collection homes throughout the US, Canada and Australia. From there they will be distributed to children in many Children's Hospitals for Valentine's Day. What began as a donation of 53 monkeys to a small local drive 13 years ago has grown to as many as 3,000 stuffed monkeys from 9 countries worldwide.
You can help here in Alberta too! To donate, all you have to do is purchase 1 or more new stuffed monkeys, 8" or larger with tags still on and then email Karen Gardiner at gardinkd@telus.net for the address to mail them to. All monkeys collected will be donated to the Alberta Children's Hospital Foundation. Monkeys must be received by no later than Feb.8th to allow time for delivery.
